So, a few months ago I had an idea for an ad to promote the comic. And because I’m eternally distracted, I didn’t get around to it. The ad was poking fun at the totally unnecessary redesigns for virtually every character in the DC Universe this past September. But once November hit, the outrage over the trashing of iconic costumes had pretty much died down.
And then came Darkseid.
Now, I like Jim Lee. He drew the first comic book I ever bought. He’s been a huge influence on me. But this design is terrible. It’s taking a classic design and redoing it for the sake of redoing it. I’m not opposed to redesigning heroes or villains, but what is the point of this one? What does it add to Darkseid? I mean, the old Darkseid was pretty impressive and intimidating, while this new one . . . . well . . . .

I almost expect him to be taking on the Power Rangers. (Sorry, Trev. . . . ) So long story short, it’s totally the perfect time to use this ad. (And if you’ve found the site via that ad, thanks for checking it out! I hope you think it doesn’t suck.)
I should just off on an all-out rant about what I like in comics. But I’m hungry, so I’m going to go eat something.

Quote of the Moment:
“This is a hobo suit, darling. You can’t be seen in this. I won’t allow it. Fifteen years ago, maybe, but now? Feh!”
“Wait, what do you mean? *You* designed it.”
“I never look back, darling! It distracts from the now.”
